1. Who we are
African Loads ("we", "us") is a freight technology platform operated from Lusaka, Zambia, serving agents, transporters and shippers across the SADC trade corridor. Contact: hello@africanloads.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone, company, role.
- Verification (KYC) — government ID, NRC/passport, selfie, white book / company registration.
- Operational data — loads posted, bookings, messages, payments, vehicle and driver information.
- Device & usage data — IP, browser, app version, crash logs, approximate location.
- Payment data — handled by mobile-money and card processors; we never store full card numbers.
3. How we use your data
To provide the platform, match loads with transporters via Ai, verify identity, prevent fraud, process payments, send transactional notifications, comply with legal obligations and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Sharing
We share limited data with: counterparties on accepted bookings (name, phone, WhatsApp); payment providers (Airtel Money, MTN MoMo, Zamtel Kwacha, card networks); cloud infrastructure (Lovable Cloud / Supabase); and law-enforcement when legally required.
5. Storage & security
Data is stored in encrypted form on our cloud backend. Access is restricted by role and protected by row-level security. Verification documents are accessible only to our compliance team.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your account data at any time via your profile, or by emailing us. Verification records may be retained for up to 5 years to satisfy anti-money-laundering and freight-fraud requirements.
7. Cookies
We use first-party cookies for sign-in, session, and basic analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
8. Children
African Loads is for business use. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Cross-border transfers
Because our network spans Zambia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, DRC, Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia and Malawi, your data may be transferred between these jurisdictions for the purpose of fulfilling freight transactions you initiate.
